Harcourt California HSP Math

An SB 472 Professional Development Program

As part of the SB 472 Professional Development Program, this five-day institute will help teachers learn how to effectively deliver instruction aligned to California content standards using Harcourt California HSP Math instructional materials. Participants will:

  • Become familiar with and gain a practical understanding of the state content standards and frameworks for mathematics.
  • Acquire the research base and rationale for a student outcome-driven approach for instruction and improvement.
  • Receive in-depth training on how to implement an effective instructional program using Harcourt California HSP Math.
  • Obtain a professional familiarity with and practice the use of instructional strategies that are embedded in these instructional materials.
  • Gain an understanding of how assessments can be used to monitor student progress and determine the most effective method of instructional delivery.
  • Observe, practice, and refine instruction based on the use of Harcourt Math instructional materials and strategies.

This activity meets HOUSSE criteria for standards-aligned professional development
