Educating All Students in Mathematical Problem Solving: A Hands On Workshop for Educators
During this 2 session workshop, participants will engage in activities that will an understanding of how to help ALL students become mathematically competent. Time will be spent reviewing pertinent research and best practices. Participants will also have a chance to experience powerful math lessons. There will be a wide variety of tools and resources introduced to the participants that they will be able to turn around and use the next day in class. The expectation is that teachers try out one of these structures and bring student work back to the second session.
- Participants will deepen their understanding of what is expected of students in mathematics in the 21st Century.
- Participants will learn several pedagogical structures and techniques to support mathematics learning for a diverse population of students.
