Career Technical Education
SCOE offers Career Technical Education (CTE) courses through its ROP program, enhances career exploration efforts in middle school, and connects schools to local workforce development efforts.
Common Core State Standards
SCOE is helping Sonoma County schools transition to the new Common Core State Standards for English language arts and mathematics that were adopted by California in August 2010.
English Learner Services
To promote the achievement of English learners, SCOE offers instructional strategy workshops and training for teachers seeking certification to provide instruction for second-language learners.
Library/Instructional Resources
The SCOE Library provides instructional resources for classroom use and services to support school libraries. Our collection includes over 40,000 books, videos, and other items available for use in the classroom.
Mathematics
SCOE provides assistance related to mathematics content, textbook implementation, lesson study, strategies for English Learners, and use of technology in math. Teachers can also access support for curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
Reading/Language Arts
Reading & early intervention expert Dr. Kevin Feldman has compiled this collection of reading/language arts resources to help teachers and administrators improve literacy learning in Sonoma County.
Science

Student Academic Events
SCOE coordinates academic events to support, encourage, recognize, and promote student learning. SCOE-sponsored events include the Mini Maker Faire, Robotics Challenge, Science Fair, Science Olympiad, and Spelling Bees.

SCOE advances the use of technology in Sonoma County schools by providing technical support and curricular services that create 21st century learning opportunities.
Transitional Kindergarten
SCOE is helping districts respond to the new Kindergarten Readiness Act, which requires the development of transitional kindergarten programs for children born between September and December.
