Deputy Superintendent Jim Cerreta is retiring

02/26/2016 - Jim Cerreta, 111x111 Jim Cerreta, SCOE’s deputy superintendent of schools in charge of Business Services, has submitted his letter of resignation and plans to retire, effective June 30, 2016. County Superintendent Steve Herrington has regretfully accepted the resignation.

“I’d like to thank Jim for his years of service to SCOE and his dedication to the children of Sonoma County, which has been obvious in all the good work he has done,” Dr. Herrington said. “His will be hard shoes to fill.”

Dr. Herrington will be utilizing a selective recruitment process to fill the position, using his authority to make a direct appointment. The process will begin March 1. He hopes to have identified the best candidate by March 15 and be able to announce the new appointee by the beginning of April.
