Fiscal Services for Districts
Through its Business Services department, SCOE accounts for all K-12 public education funding in Sonoma County. The department is divided into two primary units: Internal Fiscal Services, which supports the operations of the County Office of Education, and External Fiscal Services, which supports all 40 of Sonoma County’s K-12 school districts as well as district-sponsored charter schools and the local community college. Services provided by the department include: budget support, accounting, payroll, retirement accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. These centralized services enable schools to perform day-to-day fiscal operations with cost-efficiency.
