Effective governance and policy development are critical components of school board leadership. The Sonoma County Superintendent and County Board of Education host periodic seminars designed to support and develop effective and informed school governing boards. These sessions highlight board leadership strategies that enable staff to administer high-quality educational programs that meet the diverse needs of local communities. The seminars provide opportunities for school trustees to:
- Meet with other local board members and share best practices
- Deepen understanding of board leadership roles and effective governance
- Develop topics of interest for ongoing school board capacity-building sessions
