Jun 2, 2026
The Sonoma County Office of Education (SCOE) and County Board of Education celebrated SCOE’s Class of 2026 on May 28 and 29. Four Amarosa Academy students who recently earned their diplomas were recognized on Thursday, May 28, at the school in southwest Santa Rosa. The campus serves students who have had difficulty in traditional high school settings.
On Friday, May 29, 14 students aged 18-22 who receive special education services from SCOE’s Transition program were recognized for receiving their diplomas during a ceremony at SCOE.
Sonoma County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Amie Carter and the Sonoma County Board of Education attended both ceremonies.
“The students who graduate from SCOE’s programs have overcome a wide range of challenges to earn their diplomas,” Carter said. “Celebrating with them is one of the best parts of being county superintendent.”
Sonoma County Board of Education President Peter Kostas shared in the celebration, highlighting the incredible achievements of the graduates.“It was an honor for me to attend both graduations," Kostas said. "Our students faced many hardships in their lives and they never gave up their goal of earning a diploma. Their resilience and heart showed on their faces. A heartfelt recognition goes out to their parents, family members, teachers and instructional aides who were always there for them.”
SCOE extends a huge congratulations to the Class of 2026!
