2025-26 Negotiations
Message from the County Superintendent

Recently, The Press Democrat reached out to learn more about the status of negotiations between SEIU, ASCOE, and SCOE. While it’s unusual for local news outlets to cover this level of detail, SCOE believes transparency is essential. We want our staff to have access to the same information we shared with reporters. We will continue posting updates online as is appropriate.
I have full confidence in the negotiations process. It is both a normal and legally required part of public employment in California. I remain eager to come to an agreement, and I am optimistic that we’ll reach that soon. In the meantime, I want to express my sincere appreciation for our entire SCOE team. The dedication this team shows to students, families, and one another continues to inspire me every day. Even in challenging moments, we show who we are at SCOE: a professional, compassionate, and resilient organization defined by a strong, caring culture and an unwavering commitment to those we serve.
Leading this organization—and serving alongside such dedicated people—remains one of the greatest honors of my life.
— Dr. Amie Carter, Sonoma County Superintendent of Schools
