Counselor Collaborative: Spring 2023 Convening
The Counselor Collaborative is a biannual convening of elementary, middle, and high school counselors and related service providers. Each session consists of professional development activities that are related to issues identified by collaborative participants. Meetings feature guest speakers and interactive discussions on topics related to advancing the social, emotional, and academic growth of Sonoma County students. The event is hosted by the Behavioral Health Department at SCOE.
There is a $25 registration fee for this event. If payment is a barrier, please contact Arissa Hieter (707.522.3147, ahieter@scoe.org) so that the Behavioral Health Department can help to offset the cost.

Presenter | Dr. Cecile Hyewon Bhang is an Assistant Professor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Sonoma State University. She will be leading a workshop on Anxiety in Youth during this spring’s event. The workshop will touch on how anxiety manifests in youth from diverse backgrounds and across the age span and explore culturally sensitive interventions and coping strategies in the school environment. Following Dr. Bhang’s workshop, there will be topic-focused, counselor and related service provider-led breakout opportunities, including Using Books for Social Emotional Learning with Rebekah Chadwick, Counselor Retention and Advocacy with Moises Fernández, and Supporting Early College Credit with Christi Calson. |
