Equity in the Arts
Hands on Workshops
During this seminar, educators will explore the intersections of culture, equity, and visual art by examining the works and themes of diverse artists and art forms. Topics will include the history of body armor and its contemporary examples in modern film and entertainment, the cultural expression and reflection of Day of the Dead, the quilting artistry of Bisa Butler, and other significant visual art practices that highlight cultural identity, social justice, and historical narratives. Participants can choose to attend one or both sessions.
