Creating an Equitable Special Education Referral Process for Multilingual Learners
Multilingual learners (ML) bring a unique set of assets to their schooling experience. This session will focus on supporting those assets and how schools can ensure an equitable pre-referral process for MLs who may be considered for Special Education services. Participants will explore foundational concepts and research that are essential to effectively serving multilingual learners. They will be introduced to valuable tools and specialized supports critical to a comprehensive pre-referral process.
