Foundations for Young Learners

A Teaching Symposium Focus on Mathematical Concepts

This is a learning series for all educators, specialists, and administrators serving TK and Kindergarten students focusing on mathematical concepts.

Participants will learn research-based strategies for teaching the mathematical domains including number sense, geometry, algebraic functions, and measurement. Participants will learn how to use the Preschool Learning Foundations and the California Kindergarten State Standards as tools to guide their instruction.

Note Regarding Payment:
You must select CHECK or CREDIT CARD to complete this registration.

Check (paid by you or your district/school via a purchase order process): After you register you will receive a confirmation / invoice. If you are paying for the event yourself, print your confirmation / invoice, attach your check, and mail as indicated. If your district or school is paying for the event, please forward your confirmation / invoice to the appropriate person so that a check can be processed via your district/school's purchase order (PO) process. SCOE does not require a copy of the PO, as an invoice is sent at the time of event registration.

Credit card (PayPal): You must enter credit card information at the time of registration. If you are being reimbursed for this event, follow your district/school guidelines for reimbursement.

Recommended books are the Preschool Learning Foundations Vol. 1, Preschool Curriculum Frameworks Vol. 1 (CDE Press) and Developmentally Appropriate Practice by Copple and Bredekamp.

One continuing education unit (CEU) from Humboldt State University will be available upon request for $50. Participants must attend both days of the class to be eligible for the CEU.

If you teach TK, you may be reimbursed for the CEU fees and for the recommended books through the CTKS program.
