Foundations for Young Learners | NGSS and the Young Learner

Next Generations Science Standards and the Young Learner

Young learners have a curiosity and a desire to learn about how their world works. In this session participants will have an opportunity to explore strategies for supporting students as they are engaged in the process of scientific inquiry while investigating core ideas and science and engineering practices from the Next Generations Science Standards. Participants will engage in hands-on learning and explore how to combine science, engineering and storytelling.

One continuing education unit (CEU) from Humboldt State University will be available upon request for an additional fee.

Through the CA Transitional Kindergarten Stipend (CTKS) fund, both TK teachers and districts qualify for reimbursement while funds last. The following expenses qualify for reimbursement:

  • Class registration fee
  • Substitute teacher costs
  • Humboldt State University Course fee
