Feb 2 | SELPA Superintendents’ Council SELPA superintendents meet monthly 8:00-10:00am in Santa Rosa City Schools' Board Room.
Superintendents of Sanger USD and Firebaugh-Las Deltas USD present a two-part session on reform in support services at Mary Agatha Furth Center. Superintendents are invited to the first part to discuss principles for local improvement. Second part opens to superintendents and two other district team members of the superintendents' choosing, for a larger discussion.
Feb 2 | English Learner Parent Leadership Institute Conducted entirely in Spanish, free annual workshop supports and empowers parents of English learners.
Feb 2 | Access & Accommodations for the 2016 SBAC Workshop helps educators understand accessibility supports for the 2016 SBAC Summative Assessment and explore universal tools, designated supports, and accommodations.
Feb 3, 19 & 29 | SBAC Interim Assessment Clinics Clinics offer drop-in assistance to participants to review key concepts behind Smarter Balanced Interim Assessments, including organization, access, and use.
Feb 4 & 11 | LCAP Coffee Break Sessions provide educators an opportunity to stay abreast of various LCAP topics.
Feb 5 | Sonoma Leadership Network Elementary and secondary leadership teams study and implement research-based strategies that improve student achievement and narrow the achievement gap.
Feb 9-10 | Equity at the Core Conference Educators and community members alike learn how to develop and implement best practices to eliminate gaps in achievement and improve access for students from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds at the Flamingo Hotel in Santa Rosa.
Feb 10 | Transitional Kindergarten Network Participants establish connections and continue to improve the quality of local TK programs by supporting the needs of each district, 4:00-7:00pm.
Feb 11 | Middle School NGSS Curriculum Forum Neutral forum for teachers and administrators to receive information about the different middle school course models described in the Next Generation Science Standards.
Feb 12 | ELC Seminar & Leadership 40 District superintendents meet for a professional development seminar presented by Pivot Learning Partners, 8:00am-12:00pm, followed by a regular Leadership 40 meeting, 1:00-2:30pm.
Feb 16 | Alternative Education Directors District alternative education staff meets quarterly to discuss related issues, 2:00-3:00pm.
Feb 16 | Sonoma County SARB Sonoma County Attendance Review Board meets quarterly, 3:00-4:30pm.
Feb 16 | Essential Language Practices for English Learners Two-day professional development sequence focuses on research-based teaching and assessment practices that meet the needs of EL students and build system-wide capacity for success.
Feb 17 | Middle School Principals Middle school principals meet to discuss common topics and share resources, 7:30-9:00am.
Feb 18 | Preparing for 2016 SBAC Summative Assessments Session helps guide leadership teams in planning and preparing for SBAC assessments, with assistance from CDE and Educational Testing Services representatives.
Feb 19 | High School Principals High school principals meet to share related issues and educational topics, 7:30-9:00am.
Feb 22 | LCAP Workshop at SCOE LCAP training covers a range of topics, including outcomes of stakeholder engagement, an annual update, district collaboration and more.
Feb 22 | Leading for Instructional Shifts Three-session series provides leadership teams an opportunity to examine the power of leadership shifts that support instructional shifts within a specific educational context.
Feb 26 | School Emergency Preparedness Training Full-day training covers the basics of developing and maintaining a high-quality school emergency operations plan and the law enforcement response to school incidents.
Feb 29 | Associated Student Body (ASB) Workshop Workshop led by Fiscal Crisis & Management Assistance Team focuses on information for today’s school leaders to maintain fiscal accountability, legal compliance, transparency, and accuracy in student body accounts.
