SCOE is excited to announce an upcoming professional development opportunity designed to support English Learners in grades 6-12 across content areas.

Over the course of three sessions spanning three months, the Academic Language and Literacy in Every Subject (ALLIES) workshop will equip secondary teachers and administrators to understand and implement instructional strategies specifically designed to meet the language and literacy demands of the Common Core State Standards, the Next Generation Science Standards, and the ELD Standards.

ALLIES does an impressive job of blending theory with practical instructional strategies. This workshop is intended for district or site-level teams that include two or more classroom teachers, an administrator, and/or an EL coordinator.

Please note: When I originally shared this at our meetings, it was announced as the Academic Language Development Network (ALDN).
