"Loose Parts" Needed

Date: 11/17/2017

As part of some of our maker education offerings we will be exploring the concept of "loose parts" with young learners.  Loose parts are something that will help children inspire imagination and creativity on their own terms and in their own unique way. Loose parts can be natural or synthetic.  They are often something that is being repurposed from another use.

In order for us to provide this opportunity to students we need collections of materials. This is where you come in!  We would appreciate your help in collecting materials.  Often these are items that you may just recycle or throw away.  Instead, bring them to Brulene Zanutto in the ESS department. She has a box under her desk area that will hold these loose parts. Listed in the below box are examples of possible loose parts to help you get started.  If you are not sure if something is a loose part - just ask Brulene!

Thank you for your support!

"I like Amarosa because there's a much smaller student count and so teachers can be one-on-one with you. They can actually help you and be one-on-one with you while the class is doing something else. I feel like that's a huge game-changer." - Leilan, Student
