Letter to SEIU staff from Field Representative Michael Viloria

Dear SEIU Classified Staff:

My name is Michael Viloria, and I’m your new Field Representative with SEIU Local 1021. I want to first welcome you back for the new school year!

I began my role as your representative in May and have had the opportunity to meet with some of you.

It is my intention to take the following steps over the next several months:

• Hold worksite meetings – to provide opportunities for membership to get together and discuss issues, share ideas and agree to a plan that meets the interests of members.
• Improve Communication – update and expand personal email contact list; develop and distribute chapter related news/updates on a regular basis, via email and distribution at worksites. Consider and implement other methods of communication.
• Recruit Member Stewards/Worksite Representatives: Representatives who assist with communications answer questions from members or direct them to someone that can answer questions. Attend labor/management meetings.

To accomplish this, your support and participation are necessary.
