Public Safety Power Shutoff Update
10/08/2019 -
As you may have heard, PG&E has announced that they may shut off power to large sections of Sonoma County beginning Wednesday night due to high fire risk. At this time, we are informed by the Sonoma County Emergency Operations Center that shutoffs could take place beginning as early as midnight tonight, with additional shutoffs possible later in the day on Wednesday. PG&E expects that it could take 48 hours to restore power in populated areas and up to five days in more remote areas.
At this point, SCOE has not received a notice that power will be cut off to its Skylane facility. We expect to remain operational unless we hear otherwise, in which case we will notify staff as soon as possible.
If you work at a school site within a district, your school site may be impacted by the outage. Please connect with your supervisor or department head to determine whether you should come to work.
A map of the area that could potentially be impacted by the shutoff is available here.
