Coronavirus Update for Staff
03/15/2020 - Dear SCOE Employees, We know that this has been a challenging time and we are thankful to every employee for their flexibility and patience as we navigate these new waters. You may have seen the press release announcing that the county health department and SCOE are recommending that school districts suspend onsite learning for students through at least the end of March in order to help mitigate the spread of Coronavirus. For now, all districts are asking staff to continue reporting to work to provide at-home learning options and other supports to students. SCOE is following this same policy. Please report to work on Monday following your normal schedule. We will continue to promote social distancing practices such as keeping 3-6 feet of distance between yourself and co-workers. Special Education and Alternative Education staff should look for specific guidance from their department leaders. We know many of you with children may be wondering how you will approach work if your children have to stay home from school. The SCOE leadership team will be discussing this on Monday and we will provide additional details as soon as we can. If you have a health concern or need to provide care to a child or sick family member, please work with your supervisor to determine whether you should stay home. From the SCOE Leadership Team, we thank you for your continued flexibility and patience. SCOE employees have repeatedly proven their resilience and dedication during difficult times. We will get through this together. Sincerely, The SCOE Leadership Team
