SCOE Mindfulness Breaks

09/21/2017 -

Big-little apple, Portfolio April 2015Thank you to all who participated in the SCOE Wellness Survey. One area in high demand seems to be stress management. We have an ongoing program on Wednesdays to help with just that: mindfulness.

Mindfulness helps you learn to calm your mind and body to help you cope with illness, pain, and stress. It is a way to focus only on things happening in the present moment. For example, you may sit quietly and focus only on the sounds around you or your breath - we have even practiced mindful eating. Studies show it is effective in reducing symptoms of stress and anxiety.

Come practice mindfulness for stress management Wednesdays at 3 pm in ESS's Mariposa Room at the Skylane facility. You may find that 15 minutes of real down time helps you be happier, more focused, and more productive overall. Email swilmarth@scoe.org for more information or to receive the mindfulness calendar invites.
