SCOE develops online resource hub for caregivers/educators related to social justice and equity
06/08/2020 -
SCOE strongly supports State Superintendent Tony Thurmond's May 2020 call to action for schools to promote racial justice, confront bias, and foster tolerance. We are committed to collaborating with and amplifying the efforts of the California Department of Education (CDE) as Superintendent Thurmond launches a state-wide effort to address racism head-on.
As a starting point, a group of equity-minded mental health professionals and educators who work for the Sonoma County Office of Education have developed a web page of resources for parents, caregivers, and educators looking to begin a conversation with children.
We invite your thoughts on how schools can help build a more tolerant, just society here in Sonoma County. Please send them to communications@scoe.org.
