SCOE recognized for emergency response efforts

02/26/2015 - Certificate of AppreciationSCOE received recognition from the County of Sonoma for assisting with emergency response efforts during the December 2014 Winter Storm event. Our office collects school closure information from all local districts and charter schools, then provides the County’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) with up-to-date information. School closure information is immediately posted to our website and media outlets are notified. When emergency situations occur, a SCOE employee staffs the “education desk” at the EOC to facilitate communications between the County, local districts, and first responders.
