Foster and Homeless Youth

 

About Us

The mission of our Foster & Homeless Youth Services Coordination Program (FYSCP) is to support the educational outcomes of our county's children and youth in foster care and unhoused situation though advocacy, guidance, community organization, teaming and collaboration. We also provide technical assistance through guidance and inter-agency collaboration around school permanency, enrollment and streamlined school transitions to support school stability and college and career readiness for students in foster care or experiencing homelessness in our county.

We are here to help ensure the full implementation of all federal and state law aimed at making sure our foster and homeless students receive the full benefits of a free and appropriate public education that all students are entitled to.

Our Foster & Homeless Youth Services Coordination Program can offer training in the areas of;

  1. Educational Rights for Foster and Unhoused Youth
  2. Educational Rights for Court Appointed Special Advocates 
  3. School Districts Staff Training on McKinney Vento, Supporting Foster Youth, etc.
