Assessment Analysis & Support
SCOE helps schools analyze assessment results in relation to state and federal accountability mandates. Schools can learn how to monitor results using online resources and technology tools, then communicate the meaning of the data to stakeholder groups. Training and support is provided to engage school staff in monitoring, analyzing, and using student performance data to guide instruction.

Smarter Balanced Assessment Support
SCOE provides support and training to assist schools and districts with Smarter Balanced assessments. Services include technical support for SBAC computerized testing, test preparation assistance, and support in analyzing SBAC reports. In 2016-17, assistance is also available to help work with SBAC Interim Assessments to gauge student strengths and needs with Common Core State Standards at various points in the school year.

LCAP Metrics Resources | Link
In their analysis of need, districts must include specific data points in their LCAPs. SCOE data specialists are available to help districts access the metrics specified in the law and analyze the data. The LCAP Metrics Resources page provides a starting point for gathering the required data.

California English Language Development Test (CELDT) Support
Districts receive electronic versions of their CELDT results in December and January of each school year. The electronic file has individual student information that can be sorted and filtered using Microsoft Excel. Data specialists can process district files and create various Excel worksheets to analyze English learner performance areas. Consultants are available to guide participants in the use of their electronic file. Areas of support include:

  • Learning to how to view CELDT data with Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding how to sort and filter information to interpret student needs
  • Analyzing Title III accountability areas

California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP):
Testing and Reporting Support

Each summer, Educational Testing Service provides final CAASPP results to all districts via an electronic file. This file is useful, but it can be difficult to access. SCOE offers support to help educators extract relevant data and analyze it using Microsoft Excel.

Leilan, Student
"I like Amarosa because there's a much smaller student count and so teachers can be one-on-one with you. They can actually help you and be one-on-one with you while the class is doing something else. I feel like that's a huge game-changer." - Leilan, Student
