Professional Development Opportunity

At a spring Curriculum Council meeting, the Educational Services staff asked you what kinds of training and experiences you would like to have available for your staff to support continued preparation for CCSS implementation. Based on this input, we developed a comprehensive, low-cost, high-choice training opportunity—called eduImpact—for teachers and administrators in Sonoma County.

eduImpact is an excellent opportunity for teachers to set their direction for the instructional year for continued CCSS implementation and preparation for Smarter Balance Assessments. The training dates are August 4-6. All experiences for the three days are set to answer the question, What does a Common Core-aligned classroom look, sound, and feel like?

Registration has been open for a few weeks and will close in July. We need to know if we have the numbers to support the event, so if you are considering sending staff, please register them now. We don’t want to cancel and disappoint those who have signed up.

Check it out! There are six topic strands:

  1. Kicking Off the School Year Right
  2. Project-Based Learning (PBL)
  3. Creating Lessons Aligned to the 4Cs
  4. Leadership
  5. Shared and Open Resources
  6. Assessment
