General Library/Media Resources
These resources offer online assistance for school staff trying to navigate the Web through librarian eyes, find publishers and library vendors, or learn more about school library policies and procedures.
Library Advocacy
Advocacy for school libraries has many aspects, from exploring current research findings to connecting with professional library organizations, from promoting your own library to accessing advocacy tools and ideas from existing organizations.
Library Standards
The California State Board of Education recently adopted standards for school libraries, which will be available in final draft form in early 2011. There are also several other types of standards that can be useful in planning and developing libraries and programs. These online resources identify standards for library skills, programs, and facilities.
Library/Media Funding Sources
Many foundations and organizations offer funding for education in general, and some specifically target reading and libraries. These resources provide a starting point for those who are searching online for outside funding opportunities, including state and federal government funding and grants.
