Join us at Science Discovery Day, Oct 26

10/01/2013 - Science Discovery Day SCOE is helping to support Science Discovery Day–North Bay at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds on October 26. This is a hands-on science event for students of all ages that is both educational and fun. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to this free celebration of science and technology.

Over 8,000 people are expected to attend the event. Participating students will be able to enjoy liquid nitrogen ice cream, extract DNA from a strawberry, build a marble machine, and climb into a F-4 Phantom cockpit simulator. Featured activities also include innovating in the Inventor’s Lab hosted by the Lawrence Hall of Science, cleaning the “grid” with Sonoma Clean Power, sailing on land with the Children’s Museum of Sonoma County, and observing sun spots with the Robert Ferguson Observatory.
