PLS318: Inquiry-Based Teaching and Mentoring for Meeting RICA/TPA
PLS 318, Inquiry-Based Teaching and Mentoring for Meeting TPA/RICA, is aligned with Domains One (Connection) and Two (Collaboration) of the NCSOE Mentor Framework and integrates Mentor Academy 301, so new Mentors working with Mentees who still need to pass the Teacher Performance Assessment (TPA) or Reading Instruction Competence Assessment (RICA) should take this session and will not only learn about how to support their Mentees, but will also have taken the required foundational training of MAC 301.
This session is designed for North Coast Teacher Induction (NCTIP) Mentees and Mentors to work together in understanding how to meet Induction requirements while also completing credentialing needs per Executive Order N-66-20 (passage of the TPA and RICA suspended as prerequisite to entering Induction). Prior to participation in this session, participants should view the pre-session recorded overview of either the RICA or the TPA or both, if both need to be met.
