Sonoma County Office of Education

Transformative Social & Emotional Learning Community Of Practice

We invite all interested Sonoma County educators, district staff, and community-based partners to join the Transformative Social & Emotional Learning Community of Practice (T-SEL CoP).

This community of practice is focused on:

  • Building a shared understanding/foundation of T-SEL for districts across the county

  • Building a countywide network/infrastructure that allows districts/schools to share best practices and build collective capacity related to T-SEL

  • Vetting and sharing high quality T-SEL resources and tools

  • Modeling T-SEL structures and activities that districts/schools can turnkey within their own communities

We look forward to engaging in this work together.

March 16th T-SEL CoP Spotlight: Through an experiential presentation, Mishale Ballinger (SCOE) and Shana Friedman (Petaluma City Schools), will share the basics and benefits of incorporating mindfulness practices into educational settings. They will share their stories, favorite techniques, and opportunities for further training.

Please note the T-SEL CoP is moving from monthly to quarterly meetings. Future dates TBD.
