Sonoma County Office of Education

Interrupting Racism and Discrimination Community of Practice (CoP)

This monthly community of practice (CoP) will be a space for district and site educators to create and implement a plan based on their learnings at Interrupting Racism and Discrimination event(s). Two cohorts will be offered: administrators and certificated/classified.

The certificated/classified cohort will be held outside of traditional workday/school hours to create access (as most highly requested from the survey). Only certificated/classified staff working outside of their contract hours will be eligible for stipends. Space will be limited.

An additional workshop will be offered for district and site administrators during the traditional workday (as most highly requested from the survey).

There may be times when the administrators are asked to join a part of the certificated/classified CoP for aligned work time. Preference will be given to those who have site/district representation from classified, certificated, and administrative positions. There will be an opportunity to invite students as part of the CoP as well.

It is required that those in the CoP have attended at least one of the Interrupting Racism and Discrimination events (i.e. MOT in-person, virtual, or SCOE in-person).

The first two meetings will take place:
