Counselor Collaborative: Spring 2021 Convening (Virtual Offering)

The Counselor Collaborative is a biannual convening of elementary, middle, and high school counselors and related service providers. Each session consists of professional development activities that are related to issues identified by collaborative participants. Meetings feature guest speakers and interactive discussions on topics related to advancing the social, emotional, and academic growth of Sonoma County students.

This Spring’s Collaborative theme will be Equity at the Center and will be hosted by the Special Education and Behavioral Health Department at SCOE.  

Please note that the first 30 minutes (8:30-9am) will be for casual networking. The keynote speaker and other presenters will be joining from 9am-12pm.

Maria is a Mental Health Recovery Counseling Specialist for the Special Education and Behavioral Health Department at SCOE. Maria has been working in promoting Mental Health Wellness and providing Social/Emotional support to diverse populations in Sonoma County and Mendocino County. One main key role for Maria has been to facilitate student success through Mental Health equity-minded practices for underrepresented Sonoma County children, youth, and families.

Laura is a Mental Health Services Provider for the Special Education and Behavioral Health Department at SCOE. Laura has been promoting equity in education and mental health wellness in children and adolescents for over a decade in the social services, health sectors, and educational system. She is committed to working with families and school communities to support social and emotional growth, resilience, and positive transformation in youth.
