Sonoma County Office of Education

Environmental Justice Coalition Informational Meeting

This is an informational meeting for Teachers/Mentors to learn more about the program where Middle and high school teams (6th-12th grade) from across Sonoma County are invited to sign up for a year-long learning and leadership development program hosted by the Sonoma County Office of Education. Teams will receive training and mentorship around environmental justice and action and will create and implement local action plans around one or more of the topics presented directly tied to their school or local community. Each team will include a mentor teacher or administrator from the school or district and up to six students. Students will have the opportunity to share their plans with local leaders and industries at a culminating showcase. Students will also earn an Environmental Scholars certificate, and high school students will be eligible for the State Seal of Civic Engagement through their participation.
