How do you describe your job to people outside SCOE?
I tell them I am the one that is in charge of cleaning and making sure everything is clean for my coworkers that work in these offices.

Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Santa Maria, Jalisco Mexico. When I was 15 years old I moved to Guerneville, CA with my dad. I have been here ever since.

Who was your favorite childhood teacher and why?
My favorite childhood teacher is Mrs. Stewart from El Molino High School. She is my favorite teacher because she is the one who taught me English. She also always motivated me to never give up when times were hard or when I didn’t believe in myself.

What is your favorite thing about SCOE?
I really like the staff. Everyone treats each other with respect and I feel comfortable with everyone that I come into contact with. I feel like I'm home.

What is one of your most memorable moments as a SCOE employee?
My most memorable moment was when I received a certificate of recognition from the superintendent and the board president. I really like working at a place that recognizes their employees for all their hard work that they put in.

Outside of work, what is your favorite hobby or way to unwind?
I enjoy cruising around with my husband Samuel Arriaga in his 1995 Ford F150. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

What is your favorite place in Sonoma County?
My favorite place in Sonoma County is West county. I love the little towns for all the nature that surrounds them. I enjoy going to the river, going to see the big redwoods, and the ocean.

What might people be surprised to learn about you?
Most people would be surprised to learn that I am a ranch girl. In Mexico, I grew up on a small ranch with my mom who still lives on that ranch in Mexico. I love wearing my cowgirl boots and I don’t mind getting them dirty.
