Welcome Back to School 2021
SCOE held its 2021-2022 Back-to-School event on Monday, Aug. 9. The event featured an inspiring talk by Jose Perez, a SCOE Special Education teaching assistant.
Following Mr. Perez’s speech, we began the school year by recognizing exemplary employees and colleagues. The celebration included Golden Bell and District Service award winners and those who have reached landmark years of service.

Golden Bell Winners
Tina was honored for her passion, professionalism, and willingness to go the extra mile to ensure each student is reaching their full potential. Tina is said to be the best role model for other teachers entering the profession.
Rachel was honored for her dedication to students, building relationships with students and staff, and her dependability. Rachel’s colleagues describe her as kind and are grateful to work with her.
Marlene was honored for her warmth and kindness, her ability to tackle new challenges with a positive attitude, and her pragmatic sensibility. Marlene’s colleagues describe her as invaluable and graceful.
Shauna was honored for her commitment to inclusiveness and collaboration, her leadership style, and her service to Sonoma County and its students. Shauna was also celebrated for her program contributions which have resulted in more grant funding for mental health services.
District Service Award
Scott was honored for his exceptional customer service, friendliness, and efficiency when completing jobs. Scott was described as the hardest working man in the print shop who delivers every order with a smile and light-hearted joke.
