A group of about 25 teachers and administrators from around Sonoma County met at Maker Media in Sebastopol last night to learn more about making in schools from Dale Dougherty and Project Make teacher Casey Shea.

The event also included the launch of the Maker Certificate Program for educators. The program is being offered by Sonoma State University in partnership with the Sonoma County Office of Education and Maker Media.

Maker spaces are popping up at elementary, middle and high schools throughout the county as the movement continues to grow.  Piner-Olivet Union School District held a very successful maker camp this summer.  The video below shows what they accomplished and the kids reactions to the camp.
