Science Integration Community of Practice

The Science Integration Community of Practice is a professional learning series for science teacher leaders focused on how to integrate science in the educational system. Participants will explore how science can be integrated with other content areas and areas of priority and need in the system. Examples include integration with math, history, and ELA, integrating multilingual learner support and social emotional learning with science instruction, and developing integrated formative and summative assessments. Participants will learn from experts and peers in whole group sessions, collaborate more closely with grade band peers during breakouts, and work individually on a science integration project that addresses an area of interest or need in their context. Participants will also develop skills to become a science integration leader who can work in their own system and be a resource for other systems. Teacher leaders from all grade levels are encouraged to apply. Up to 18 participants will be selected from the application process.
