Educator Supports

Educators have a unique opportunity to support and foster student well-being and resilience. By drawing on a student’s strengths, understanding their specific challenges, and fostering opportunities for success, teachers create an environment for positive well-being.

Educators are also in a key position to identify and flag concerns around mental health challenges in the school setting, and are often the first layer of support for children in their classroom.

With varying levels of training in mental health, and with many other tasks and expectations placed on teachers, this additional responsibility can be overwhelming. Below please find a collection of resources to help support educators.

Behavioral Health staff can be available to districts for professional development, coaching and other staff support on these topics. Services can be tailored to the specific needs of your site or district.

Please contact Tyson Dickinson, tdickinson@scoe.org, for more information on bringing these resources to your school.
