We encourage you to take vacation time

We encourage you to take vacation time in the months ahead. During the last two months, employees have taken fewer days off, perhaps because of the sense that we are in crisis mode. We appreciate your dedication. However, this is a marathon, not a sprint, and self-care is more important than ever.

For classified employees, if you are close to having more than the amount of vacation time permitted to continue to accrue time, please use vacation time.

For certificated employees, please plan to use your non-work days as they were scheduled on your approved work calendar. Minor adjustments can be made with the permission of the department/division lead. All non-work days for the 2019-20 school year need to be used by June 30.

There is a capacity to how much vacation time an employee can accrue, based on policy. If you have questions about the amount you are able to accrue, please check with your supervisor.
