Curriculum Council - December 8

Date: 11/28/2017
Author: Jennie Snyder

Hello,

Our next Curriculum Council meeting is scheduled for next Friday, December 8th starting at 9:15 in Redwood Rooms A & B.

Based on feedback provided at our September meeting, we will set up the meeting so that you'll be able to get updates and connect with others around topics of interest. For the first part of our meeting, we'll set up tables where you can talk with C&I colleagues and ESS staff with expertise on those topics.

To help us to be able to provide information that will best meet your needs, please let us know what topics are most important for you by completing this very brief survey (click here).

Afterwards, we hope that you will be able to join us for a special extended session of Curriculum Council focused on School-Based Systems of Support related to our county's ongoing response to the recent wildfires. This session, designed for district and site administrators will take place from 10:30-12:00 pm and will:

  • recap some of the high-level concepts and resources from the October Train-the-Trainer workshop that was held at SCOE
  • offer a consultation model to identify and leverage the skills, expertise, and knowledge within a system to address educator, parent, and student needs related to the wildfires
  • allow for sites and districts to reflect and optionally share what has worked (and what hasn't) in their wildfire-response efforts
  • engage in a needs assessment to inform future support to sites and districts

Please let me know if you have any questions. We hope to see you next Friday!

"I like Amarosa because there's a much smaller student count and so teachers can be one-on-one with you. They can actually help you and be one-on-one with you while the class is doing something else. I feel like that's a huge game-changer." - Leilan, Student
