(Updated with New Info!) Holiday Celebration for ISD

**Update 11/29/16***

The Sonoma County YWCA Safe House has let us know that they plan to pass our book donations on to the preschoolers at their "A Special Place" preschool (also a current TALLK program site!) which serves the 3-5 year olds who come to the Safe House program or are referred by Child Protective Services. With this in mind, they've requested that the books be appropriate for the 5 & under age group. They are SO excited about this opportunity, and the books will end up going to the kids "From Santa".

It's that time of the year again where we come together to celebrate the holidays and to continue the tradition of donating books to an organization in our community!

Instructional Division Holiday Reception 2016
Date: Friday, December 9, 2016
Time: 3pm - 4:30pm
Location: ESS Department

Potluck
Please consider bringing a favorite dish to share - sign-up list found by clicking here.

Book Donations
Please consider bringing a new, unwrapped children’s book that was YOUR favorite book as a child or YOUR CHILD’s favorite book! The book does not have to be holiday themed. Those who are willing to share an excerpt from their book will be invited to do so during the reception. This year we have selected to donate the books collected to the Sonoma County YWCA Safe House. The Safe House provides refuge in a confidential location for women and children fleeing domestic violence. It was established in 1977 as one of the first 15 battered women’s shelters in the country.

We look forward to our time together and can't wait to see what wonderful treats and books people bring to share.
